How can Engage users connect?

Before any chatting, scheduling, or content sharing can happen in Engage, a connection must be established between a field user and the customer. This connection is the foundation for all other activities on the Engage Connect platform.

Imagine field user Sarah Jones wants to start a conversation with Dr. Abernathy, a busy physician. Before Sarah can send messages about a new clinical study, she needs to connect with Dr. Abernathy in Engage. Let’s explore the ways this connection can be made.

Initiated by field users

These are two of the most common ways for field users to send a connection invite.

  • Approved Email - Field users can send HCPs a pre-approved email template containing a link to their Digital Business Card, allowing the HCP to accept the invitation

  • Links & QR Codes - Field users can generate a unique link or QR code® to share with the HCP, either in-person or online. When the HCP opens the link or scans the code, they are prompted to connect.

When a field user invites an HCP to connect, the HCP must review and accept the invitation. Here’s how Sarah could invite Dr. Abernathy to connect via links and a QR code® during an office visit.

  1. Select the account.

  2. Select the Engage Profile icon.

  3. Select Share Engagement Invite Link.

  4. Navigate to the Engage Profile via QR code® or link.

Automatic connections

Some connections are automatically created as a result of another Engage activity. If an HCP is signed into Engage (or signs up immediately after the interaction), they’re connected with the field user who hosted the activity. Automatic connections are triggered by:

  • Joining an Engage Meeting - After a field user hosts an Engage meeting, any HCP attendees who are signed into Engage or sign up after the meeting will be automatically connected

  • Viewing a Remote CLM Presentation - When a field user shares a link to CLM content, HCPs who are signed into Engage or sign up after viewing the content will be automatically connected

  • Submitting an Engage Meeting Request - If an HCP uses a field user’s scheduling link to request a meeting, they will be automatically connected

Let’s take a look at a common scenario. Your field user, Mark, hosts an Engage Meeting for five HCPs. Dr. Evans, one of the attendees, is already logged into their Engage account when joining. Dr. Evans is a new HCP who is not connected to Mark. After the meeting ends, a connection between Mark and Dr. Evans is automatically created; no invites needed.
