Can attendees self-register for an event?

Yes! Attendees can self-register for an event using a QR code if the event has Open Registration. Imagine a doctor forwarding your event link to their entire hospital ward. Anyone with the link can access it, fill out the form, and forward along to their peers, maximizing your reach.

For those who weren't the original recipient, the system prompts them to register as themselves. This is important because it ensures the original recipient spot doesn't get overwritten. When they complete the signup, key contact info for the event organizer displays so the attendee knows exactly who to reach out to if they have any questions.

Events can also be configured with closed registration, which strictly locks the door. It ensures that only your targeted pre-selected recipients, the ones who receive the specific link through an approved email, can actually register. If someone else tries to click it, they'll just get a message saying the event is invite only.

Content creators must add the QR code to the event's print invitation materials. They can do this by inserting the {{RegistrationQRCode}} token into Print Templates. Once the printed invitations are distributed, potential attendees can simply scan the QR code to access the unique registration link and complete the self-registration form.

QR codes can’t be used with closed (invite-only) registrations. For events with closed registration, attendees can only be added through direct invite links.

To help registrants communicate with the event organizer, the key contact name or email for the event can be displayed to the registrant upon completion of registration.
