How can field users track an Opportunity's progress?

Opportunities aren’t static; they move through a lifecycle. As Sarah gets closer to closing the deal with her customer, she can update the Opportunity to reflect its current stage. By default, Opportunity stages include:

  • New - An Opportunity is identified, but no action has been taken

  • Needs Analysis - More information is needed before discussing with the customer

  • Proposal - Actively pursuing a commitment from the customer

  • Negotiation/Review - Actively negotiating with the customer and expecting a resolution soon

  • Closed (Won) - The Opportunity is closed successfully

  • Closed (Lost) - The Opportunity is closed unsuccessfully

Opportunity stages can be added, removed, or edited via Object Lifecycles.
