Can I reuse a template for different teams or users?

Not every new X-Page needs to start from the Studio Template Library. Once you've used a template and built out your customizations, that deployed X-Page can become a starting point of its own. Cloning it creates an exact copy, including all of your prior work.

Reusing a template from the library

Templates from the library can be reused as many times as you need. The template itself is never modified and remains in the Template Library unchanged.

This strategy is best when you’re starting a new X-Page and want a clean, consistent foundation. For example, your Sales team and Key Account Managers both need an X-Page for HCP account data. You can use the Commercial HCP template twice - once for the Sales team, and another for the Key Account Managers allowing both pages to be independently customized.

Cloning an existing X-Page

Sometimes the best starting point may be an X-Page you’ve already spent time customizing. Cloning an existing page creates an exact copy, including all of your prior customizations.

Cloning an X-Page is best when you’ve made substantial customizations and want to carry them forward for future use, rather than repeating the effort for each page. For example, you have fine-tuned a Commercial HCP page for your Sales team with custom sections and specific HCP data. Your Key Account Managers need something similar but with Account Plan data rather than HCP data. To streamline page development, you can clone the existing page and swap the data source to quickly build and deploy this page for your KAM team.

To clone an X-Page:

  1. From the Pages tab in X-Pages Studio, select and expand an X-Page’s corresponding More Options menu.

  2. Select Duplicate.

  3. Update the Page Name and Description fields.

  4. Select Duplicate.

  5. Make any necessary updates.

  6. Select Save or deploy the X-Page.
